ABOUT

New Smyrna Beach, Florida

HONDURAS MEETS THE Atlantic

The warmth of Honduran home cooking right where the sand meets the street. What started as a dream from home became a staple of New Smyrna Beach. Every tortilla is rolled by hand, every scoop of ice cream is made fresh, and every customer leaves feeling like family.

The Daniels Family

Joshua & Amanda met in Honduras. Amanda & her family are from the northeast mountainous region called Colón, near where the recently discovered civilization known as the "White City" is located. Josh & Amanda lived in New York before moving to the warmer climate of Florida, searching for the right place to bring authentic Honduran food to life. New Smyrna Beach was that place. Amanda is the oldest of nine siblings & has been making tortillas by hand since she was three years old. That tradition is the heartbeat of Izzy's Island. Every order is cooked fresh, nothing sits under a heat lamp or in a warming pan. All the meat, vegetables, & homemade salsas are prepared every single morning. They live by their moto: "No matter what, quality should never be compromised." Josh is also the Executive Director of Shark Coast FC and a board member of SVSC. Both of his sons play for the club. Their eldest, Izzy - the soul this restaurant is named after- plays for the Shark Coast semi profession USL2 team & for Stetson University, where he was named one of the top 11 young players in his conference as a freshman."We want every meal to feel like you are sitting in a small restaurant in Honduras. Place your order, walk across to enjoy the beach, and come back to a fresh family cooked meal."
